Norvic are soon to offer E-Learning as a training tool to enhance traditional methods of learning and augment face-to-face training.

Subjects are broken down into clear, easy to understand sections.

Questions are asked throughout the course to encourage the learner to engage with the material.

Each course ends with a written assessment to be submitted electronically for a Norvic-approved assessor to mark.

Certificates are awarded on successful completion of the subject assessment.

Customers pay per assessment submitted to assessor.

Courses currently under development are:

Update on Changes to HSE Accreditation

You may be aware that some changes are currently being planned surrounding first aid accreditation as a result of the Lofstead report. For the past 30 years the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has been the accrediting body for all first aid training providers. A training organisation would need to meet certain criteria surrounding quality assurance in order to maintain this accreditation. However, this approval by HSE is expected to be brought to an end in the near future. The consultation period on these changes was brought to a close at the end of April 2013. Next they will go before parliament and are likely to be implemented in October 2013.

The proposal put forward by HSE is that:

the HSE will continue to regulate the role of the first aider in the workplace but will not award accreditations to first aid training providers. Instead they will aim to produce guidance to help steer buyers towards an experienced, reputable provider.

At Norvic we are looking at the best ways to reassure of customers of our adherence to our quality control procedures, the continued professional development of our trainers and our dedication to providing training of the highest standard. We will keep you posted on how we adapt to the changes as they come into effect. For now we continue to hold accreditations with HSE, CIEH, JAUPT and QualsafeAwards.

If you have any questions relating to these changes or would like details on our quality management system please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
